Dance, dine and be merry at Salalah Eat Festival

The food festival commenced on Thursday, August 4 at Hawana Salalah in Dhofar Governorate and will continue until August 13.

MUSCAT: With the Khareef season ongoing, travellers are swarming to Salalah to take advantage of the region’s cool climate in Oman. 

That’s not it, the ongoing food festival is also one of the reasons for adding Salalah to your travel bucket list. 

The Salalah Food Festival, which kickstarted on Thursday, August 4 until Saturday, August 13 at Hawana Salalah, Muriya’s premier location in the Governorate of Dhofar.

The event is bringing together over 80 food stalls and trucks from local food and beverage suppliers, representing a wide range of small and medium enterprises. Salalah Eat Festival is the first edition and the largest food festival in Oman.

The festival will see the participation of more than 55 Omani chefs and establishments who will display their products. The festival also includes competitions, entertainment events, theatrical performances and various fun games for children.

With this event taking place at Hawana Salalah, visitors from across Oman and the GCC are expected to attend the festival, all thanks to the Khareef season in the region. More than 50,000 people are expected to visit the destination to make the best of the much-awaited food festival in Oman.

The opening ceremony was sponsored by His Excellency Dr Ahmed bin Mohsen Al Ghassani, Mayor of Dhofar Municipality.
