Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has a wonderful diversity of nature, which contributes to the
development of tourism. Today I am talking about Alsukaria Dunes in Mahout, in the Al
Wusta Governorate.

These sand dunes are located 500 kilometers from Muscat, which roughly means five
hours of drive on a four-wheel car to reach the place.

It is considered as one of the most rugged roads in the Sultanate of Oman due to its
ultra-fine white sand. It is preferable to drive a powerful off-road car at low speed under
the supervision of an experienced driver.

In the Sultanate of Oman, winter is the most beautiful and enjoyable season for many
people who enjoy camping, barbecuing, and picnicking overnight with family and friends

case the car gets stuck in the sand – as resources for replenishing supplies are few. The
area is inhabited by a small population, and there is only a small supermarket on the
road.
