MUSCAT: Located in the Wilayat of Al-Awabi in the Governorate of South Al Batinah, Wadi Bani Kharus is one of the most famous valleys of Oman that still bear witness to the culture and history of the Sultanate. The valley is characterized by the cultivation of various crops and fruit plantations and abounds with rich flora and fauna, making it an important destination for tourists both inside and outside the Sultanate. It also has many falajes, water springs, and various rock formations.

Since this valley has been a famous geographic location through the ages, one can also find ancient inscriptions on some stones and old houses. The valley has always been famous for the diversity of agricultural crops as a result of its fertile soil, freshwater, and beautiful weather, which helps in the abundant production of quince, mangoes, grapes, pomegranates, peaches, figs, and olives.

The Wilayat of Al-Awabi is about 140km away from the Governorate of Muscat, with modern and paved roads linking the Wilayat of Rustaq on the west and the Wilayat of Nakhl on the east.
