MUSCAT : Oman is full of rocky and sandy beaches with ecological and geological diversity and is blessed with islands and lagoons. The Sultanate’s beaches are characterized by their calmness, cleanliness, and biodiversity, forming a picturesque palette where you can enjoy walking, fishing, going out for a picnic, preparing a barbecue, or watching the sunrise or sunset in peace.

Located in the Al Wusta Governorate in the Wilayat of Duqm, Ras Madrakah Beach is the most prominent peninsula in the Sultanate. It sees mild weather throughout the year and is one of the most beautiful places in Oman, with rock formations on the Arabian Sea on one hand and soft golden sands on the other. As a result, Ras Madrakah Beach is one of the best tourist destinations in the Sultanate.

The Arabian Sea in front of the beach has a great diversity of rare marine creatures such as the humpback dolphin and stingrays. If one is observant enough, one can also spot the osprey, which looks almost like a white coloured hawk.

The beach also offers a variety of activities such as surfing, which one can do when the waves are high enough, fishing, and bird watching, among many others. And if it is a quiet day of relaxation you want, you can just take a walk on the long coastline, feeling the soft sand under your feet.
