Coronavirus: Oman bans serving food in restaurants; Ministry says violators will face strict action

MUSCAT: Restaurants, coffee shops and hotels have been told to stop serving food within the premises from March 18, 2020, until further notice.

However, they are exempted to provide take away food service to the customers.

In a statement issued by Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources said violators will face hefty fine. “Anyone (restaurants, coffee shops and hotels) who violates this directive will face a fine of OMR 300, but if its repeated they will be fined OMR 1,000,” the statement from the Ministry said.
