MUSCAT: With Oman reopening tourist sites that were closed temporarily due to inclement weather conditions, it is more than likely that most tourist places in the Sultanate would see an increase in visitors. 

One of the first places to reopen was Wadi Darbat Park, a scenic spot for all nature lovers, surrounded by picturesque hills and a gushing waterfall. Wadi Darbat’s splendid lush green valley with small caves is ideal for hiking lovers. It is no doubt the perfect spot for a family picnic or an outing with friends.

One of the most significant factors of Wadi Darbat is that it flows into the Arabian Gulf at Khawr Ruri after winding its way across hills and highlands. Autumn sees the wadi’s water cascading from the mountains, creating stunning waterfalls that can reach heights of up to 100 feet.

While you are here, don’t miss out on the tiny stalls and restaurants selling street food like fresh sweet corn, lip-smacking shawarmas, crunchy popcorn and luscious ice cream.

The Dhofar Governorate Police Command, on Thursday, said that all visitors must adhere to safety guidelines. Special care must be taken that children must not be left unattended.

The authorities have advised tourists to seek caution, especially when the water level rises during rains.
