Muscat: One of the fastest growing brands in the world, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding), the parent company of Geely Auto, has registered an aggregate sales of over 2.15 million units in 2018 across its diversified companies, up 18.3% compared to 1.81 million units in 2017.

In 2018, Geely Auto sales comprised almost 860,000 SUVs and crossovers, with the remainder composed of sedans. Geely Emgrand7 continued to be the best selling Chinese sedan for the seventh year running with sales reaching 246,933 units worldwide in 2018, averaging sales of more than 20,000 units per month.

Since its launch in Oman in 2011, Geely, represented by Towell Auto Centre (TAC), has sold over 7000 vehicles in Oman. Geely also proved itself at the 41st Dakar Rally in Lima, Peru earlier in January this year, being the group runner-up.

Such is the popularity of Geely in Oman that the brand has several repeat customers. A citizen, Ramadan Al Balushi, has acquired four new Geely vehicles in the last five years. Another happy Geely customer, Amarjeet Singh Bawa, the owner of a rent a car company, has bought a fleet of 22 cars for his renting business since 2013. Shaad Ahmed, Construction Manager at SEMEC Specialized Projects LLC got a total of 9 Geely cars from TAC within the past five years. The list continues to grow every day.
