MUSCAT: The mountains of the Wilayat Ibri in Al Dhahirah Governorate embrace Wadi Al Hajar, one of the important tourist attractions in the governorate.

The tourism movement has revived it after the return of water flowing along the valley and the filling of the Wadi Dam, adding another aesthetic picture to the place with its abundant, clear waters.

Wadi al-Hajar is about 50 kilometres from the centre of Ibri Wilayat. The valley is characterised by the abundance of Sidr and palm trees along its banks. The easy road access for all vehicles makes this valley a tourist attraction frequented by local and international tourists.

The tributaries of Wadi Al-Hajar descend from the western heights of Jabal Al-Akhdar extending from the north of Jabal Al-Mashat, which overlooks the valley, creating a breathtaking view that combines the high mountain and the deep valley.

Wadi Al-Hajar can be reached by passing through the town of Al-Dariz, and passing through the towns of Bat and Al-Bana to reach the town of Al-Hajar. The place is famous for its many fields and farms that are irrigated by the fertile aflaj flowing in it.

The places are popular for their valleys and streams, a major attraction for tourists who visit these nature’s wonders. Especially after the good rains that the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman witnessed recently, the location has been brought back to life. This region has been witnessing stagnation of its tourist activities due to the lack of rain and their exposure to drought in the past periods.

Domestic tourism is one of the most important activities that many people like to do, especially during the summer holidays, with the aim of recreation, relaxation and entertainment. For family gatherings, in addition to learning about local landmarks in the Sultanate of Oman.
