MUSCAT:Oman is bracing for a cyclonic storm set to make landfall on the coasts of Dhofar and Al Wusta governorates on Sunday evening.
The government agencies in Oman are on high alert and have informed about their readiness to deal with the “effects that result from the situation”. The government has also opened 35 centres for emergency shelter to deal with the tropical situation.
On Sunday, the Ministry of Labour has declared a two-day holiday on October 23 and 24 for both public and private sector employees in Dhofar Governorate and Al Jazar Wilayat in the Al Wusta Governorate. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Higher Education have announced school and college closures.
