Muscat: The event, organised by Whispers of Serenity, exclusively for women, at Al Bustan Palace Hotel – A Ritz Carlton Hotel, on October 4, was a grand celebration of two important days in the October calendar.
The evening began with H.H. Sayyida Basma presenting speakers who kept the audience engaged with their talks and messages. H.H. Sayyida Dr Taghreed Al Said spoke on the importance of emotional intelligence, H.H. Sayyida Alya bint Bargash Al Said on etiquette and grace, H.H. Sayyida Dr Zakiya Al Busaidy on mindfulness for well-being, Lawyer Reem al Zadjali on navigating the legal world, Vanessa Loy Mehri on nourishing body and soul with food, and psychologist Noora Al Ahkzami and clinical counselor Sahar Salmanian on building strong relationships.
The highlight of the evening was a dynamic interactive session with the invited guests, which well demonstrated the objective of the event to send messages of empowerment and learning. It encouraged the participants to discuss potential solutions – from women to women – that would benefit others. Teams from each table were required to come up with suggestions to each situation outlined.
As H.H. Sayyida Basma noted, “The interactive event methodology was implemented to develop social skills, like engaging, learning, and networking.”
Sahar Salmanian, a clinical counselor at the Whispers of Serenity, pointed out that the idea for the session was triggered based on H.H. Sayyida Basma Al Said’s experiences. The evening addressed several psychological variables that would be challenging for women in particular.
