MUSCAT – “The coastal and mountainous willayats of Dhofar governorate will continue witnessing heavy rainfall and the flowing of wadis. The peak of the impact is expected to continue on Dhofar and Southern parts of Al Wusta governorates until today afternoon: as heavy rainfall (50-200 mm) with flash floods and fresh to very severe winds (30-50 knots) are expected. The sea is expected to be very rough. In addition, sea water may inundate over low level coastal areas,” stated the CAA weather alert, adding that the wind speed around the center is estimated to be between 50 to 60 Knots. The Authority advices everyone to take maximum precaution, and not to risk crossing wadis; it also urged public to avoid low-lying areas and the sea during this period.
