Khareef Festival in Salalah attracts 6,000 visitors in five days

According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the total number of visitors to Salalah till 12 noon on June 25th stood at 5,896.

Muscat: Nearly 6,000 people have visited Salalah in five days, as part of the Khareef Festival, statistical survey revealed. 

According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the total number of visitors to Salalah till 12 noon on June 25th stood at 5,896. The highest number of visitors were Omanis (2,372), followed by Asians (1,602) and GCC citizens. Among the GCC visitors, Saudis were the largest group of travellers (534), followed by Emiratis (182), Kuwaitis (112), Qataris (47) and Bahrainis (37).

Visitors from Europe totalled 150, while 760 constituted other Arabs and a hundred hailed from other nations.

According to the survey of visitors during the khareef season in 2018, conducted by NCSI in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and the ROP, the governorate saw 826,376 visitors, an increase of 28.1 per cent as compared to 644,931 in 2017 during the season.
