MUSCAT: A prayer meeting will be held at Indian embassy in Oman to mourn the death of 42 Central Reserve Police Forces security personnel in Kashmir on Thursday.
According to a message from the Indian embassy in Muscat, the embassy of India is organising a prayer meeting / Shraddanjali Sabha on Sunday 17 February 2019 at 11.30 AM to offer homage to the victims of the Pulwama terror attack.
“The prayer meeting will be held at the embassy auditorium and all are requested to attend,” the message read.

A terrorist had rammed buses in a security convoy on the Jammu-Srinagar highway with a car carrying 60 kg of explosives on Thursday in what is the worst terror attack to take place in Kashmir since the start of the century killing 42 soldiers.
On Friday, UN secretary general Antonio Guterres strongly condemned the militant attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district and called for those behind the attack to be brought to justice.
“We strongly condemn today’s attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district and express our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and to the Government and people of India,” Guterres’s spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said at the daily press briefing here Thursday.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the soldiers killed are set to reach their homes today.
Last evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Nirmala Sitharaman, along with Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal paid tributes to the 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers as their bodies arrived at the Palam airport.
PM Modi and the other leaders laid the wreath on the coffins, wrapped in the national flag.
US National Security Adviser John Bolton has told Indian counterpart Ajit Doval yesterday that America supports India’s right to self-defence after they discussed the Pulwama attack.
“I told Ajit Doval today that we support India’s right to self-defence. I have spoken to him twice, including this morning… and expressed US’ condolences over the terrorist attack,” he told news agency PTI. — With input from agencies
