Qureshi Bab-Al-Hind’s new modern menu is ‘Indian inspired, created for the world’

What is the new menu about? How would you define the Qureshi menu in three words?

We love food; we are inspired by the land, the ingredients and the people who not only work to feed us from each harvest, but also pass on secrets from generation to generation. Our inspirations and aspirations are varied, and we tend to try our hand at all the things we love; we source flavour, balance and history and plate it all together.
Indian inspired, created for the world.

Where do you find inspiration to create new recipes?

Inspiration comes from nature’s produce and age-old recipes passed down from generation to generation. Whilst this sparked my interest in the culinary scene eventually, it has also kept me very focused on maintaining nature’s perfection with the use of different produce. Amazing produce, therefore, is always the starting point of my inspiration, and we’re truly fortunate to have ease of access.

How important is a fresh, seasonal menu to you?

We believe in produce-driven cuisine that captures each premium seasonal ingredient at its finest. As all nature’s produce is seasonal, we believe our menu offerings should also be seasonal; this menu is very important and key to bringing nature’s finest from source to the dining table.

Can you tell us a bit about the Omani food scene? Has it influenced your menu in any way?

The Omani food scene is flourishing, our influence is our consumer who not only patronizes us but also gives valuable feedback. As Omani food establishes its dining scene, there has also been an increased interest amongst both locals and tourists in trying out the various Omani local foods with a twist, and this will no doubt further fuel growth in the industry.

Qureshi has won a series of impressive awards. How do you feel when you think back on the early days of its opening?

” Well, awards are humbling to see where we have reached; all recognition gives us constant encouragement and reminder that we need to constantly inspire and create for our consumer. We still believe all our guests should leave their table with both eyes and palates satisfied – for us that is rewarding.”
