MUSCAT: Residents in Wilayat Sur reported feeling tremors on Saturday morning after an earthquake with a 4.8 magnitude was recorded 57km northeast of the city in South Al Sharqiyah.
Oman’s Earthquake Monitoring Centre (EMC) said a 4.8-magnitude earthquake hit the Sea of Oman at 10am. Many took to social media to say they felt the mild quake on Saturday morning. Officials speaking to The Arabian Stories said the quake was “slightly felt by residents” but had no further effect.
